A Homeopathic Doctor must have a minimum 2 year Undergraduate Degree. This is followed by a 3 year Postgraduate program in Medical Sciences, Classical and Contemporary Homeopathic Medicine. Before becoming Doctors, students must also complete a period of clinical externship, where they are responsible for the consulltation, research and prescription of medication to patients. This process is closely supervised by experienced Homeopathic Doctors to ensure the well-being of patients, and strengthen the educational process for students. To finalize the Homeopathic Medical Program, students must complete 1100 hours of clinical externship. Upon completion, students graduate the program and receive a Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Science (D.H.M.S.). They must then submit an application for certification as a Homeopathic Doctor to the Ontario Homeopathic Association. If the candidate has met all requirements of the theoretical and practical curriculum, they are certified as a Homeopathic Doctor (H.D.).
